Kohlrabi and Cucumber


 

INGREDIENTS

 

1 Purple Kohlrabi cubed

1 Cucumber chopped

1 small Onion sliced

3 cloves Garlic chopped

5 Banana prawns cleaned and chopped

1/2 tsp Sugar

3 tbsp Cooking oil

1 cap Shao xing wine

2 pinches MSG (optional)

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp Corn flour in

1/3 cup Water

 


 





Chop the kohlrabi and cucumber into bite sized pieces. If you grow your own kohlrabi then you need to remove the leaves and peel off the outer layer of skin before chopping.

 

 

Add oil to a wok or fry pan on high heat

 

 

Add garlic and fry until fragrant

 

 

Add onion

 

 

Add prawn and stir fry briefly

 

 

Add kohlrabi

 

 

Add salt

 

 

Add sugar

 


Add cucumber

 

 

Add corn flour / water mix and stir in wel

 

 

Cover lower heat to medium and cook for 2 minutes

 

 

Add MSG (optional)

 

 

Add Shao xing wine and stir through briefly

 

 

Serve with boiled rice and your choice of meat dish.
