FRIED RICE

 

 

INGREDIENTS

 

200g Pork, diced
5 large Prawns shelled and chopped (add half a tsp sugar to the chopped prawns)
2 cups White rice (cooked)
2 Carrots (medium) diced
1/2 Red onion diced
4 cloves Garlic, chopped
1/2 cup Green peas
2 Eggs
1 tsp Sugar
1 tbsp Soya sauce
1.5 tsp Chicken stock powder
3 tbsp Cooking oil
Pinch of MSG (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste

 

There are many types of fried rice. All you need to do is use your imagination. Switch ingredients, put new things in, leave other things out. There are no real rules about how you make fried rice. This is just one example. See below for another recipe.

METHOD

 

 

Pre cook the rice and if possible leave overnight, if not then allow to cool before frying.

 

Put cooking oil into a wok and heat. Add the garlic and cook until brown and fragrant.

 

 

Add the onion and cook until it starts to soften

 

 

Add the pork

 

 

Add sugar and carrot. Cook until the carrot starts to soften a bit

 

 

Add the prawns

 

 

Add the soya sauce

 

 

Add the MSG

 

 

Add the peas

 

 

Add the rice and stir fry for a couple of minutes mixing the ingredients in well

 

 

Add salt and pepper to taste

 

 

Break the eggs and add to the wok then stir in well

Pepper fried rice ingredients

 

200g Pork, diced (Add 1 tsp Corn flour and 1 tbsp Soya sauce as a marinade)
4 large Prawns shelled and chopped (add half a tsp sugar to the chopped prawns)
2 cups White rice (cooked)
1 Carrot (medium) diced
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1/2 cup Green peas
1 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Szechwan pepper pounded

1/8 tsp White pepper
1 tsp Soya sauce

1 tsp Fish sauce

1 Lap cheong (Chinese sausage) sliced
1 tsp Chicken stock powder (Konig brand if you can get it)
3 tbsp Cooking oil
Salt to taste
