Mount Robinson is located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia just east of the Great Northern Highway.
It is the 8th highest peak in W.A.
There is a designated overnight rest area at the foot of the hill with toilets, seats, tables and shelters available.
It is possible to walk along a track from the rest area up into the hill. The walk trail is 10.6 kilometres return and requires both a good level of fitnesss but also
proper preparation including water, hat, appropriate clothing for the season and good walking boots.
If you stay overnight you may be lucky enough to hear the howling of dingoes from back in the hill. We have heard them calling every time we have
stayed overnight at the rest area and on one occasion had a young dingo even visit the campsite.
Just across the road from Mount Robinson is a very picuresque hill named The Governor.
Both features were named after Governor William Cleaver Francis Robinson the 8th governor of the state.
