The first television station in Western Australia was TVW-7 that began broadcasting on October 16th 1959.

Colour television becomes available on March 1st 1975.

Digital television started to become available in W.A. from January 1st 2001.

Although there are now many channels available for viewers, there is now less local content and more advertising.
