Regan's Ford crosses the Moore River just south of the Windmill Roadhouse on Brand Highway.
The ford is named after Edward Regan who initially worked as a shepherd in the area and then purchased land by the river in the 1870s.
A ford across the river was constructed and the land around it became a reserve for the use of travellers, drovers and their stock.
Today the reserve still exists and is a popular picnic area for those heading along the highway.
Facilities at the site include tables, seats, bins, toilets and a black water dump point.
Overnight stops are not allowed here thanks to the presence of a caravan park at the roadhouse.
Some sources refer to Regan's Ford as a townsite but although a townsite was once proposed, nothing ever developed and the only
buildings there are associated with the roadhouse.
