DESCRIPTION

Martup rest area is situated along Albany Highway north of the Beaufot River roadhouse and just south of the junction with Robinson Road.

The rest area has the usual seats, tables and shelters as well as bins but what is less well known is a nice camping spot on the bank of the Beaufort River that is hidden away along a track behind the rest area.

There are some possible sites along side of the track as you head to the main campsite. These would be useful if the area by the pool is already full.

The campsite is situated at Woodanilling Pool and can be reached either by a couple of tracks at the rest area or from a smaller track just west of the bridge over the Beaufort River on Robinson Road.

Martup rest area is right by the Albany Highway and although you can stay overnight, it is probably going to be very noisy due to the proximity of traffic.

The areas along the track by the river will still experience some road noise but it is much more muted than the official rest area.

While the rest area has seats, tables and shelters, the campsite by the river only has a bin.

Dogs are allowed at the site and the river campsite is suitable for probably 2 or 3 rigs.
