Bamboo Creek is a gold mining operation located south east of Port Hedland in the northern Gregory Ranges.

It was badly affected by Cyclone Steve in 2000. 434mm of rain fell in just two days.

The site was first gazetted in 1895 and the name is supposed to derive from the dominant plant life on the creek.

The closest town to the mine is Marble Bar which is some 50km south west (86 km by road).

Gold was first discovered at this site in 1895 at Jarmans by Tom Byass and his companions. A gold battery was established in 1913 and was only dismantled in 1962. By that time the battery had crushed over 58 thousanmd tonnes of ore.

Mining has continued on and off at the site and the latest information we can find indicates that a mining company called Haoma Mining was still working the area in 2014. Public access to the mine site is not permitted. There is a Facebook page site that includes a few photos of the area.
