Lake Camm is about 16 kilometres north of Lake King on the road to Hyden.

Near the lake is an abandoned tennis club with no less than three courts. Quite why someone would build a tennis club in such a remote place is hard to understand but considering the pork-barrelling that occurs in this country, perhaps I shouldn’t be too surprised either.

The area around the old tennis club is now used as an overnight stop for caravanners and other like minded travellers who are looking for a nice quiet place to rest up.

The nearby lake may dry out in times of low rainfall but when water is present it makes a great spot to sit and relax.

There are no facilities here (the old toilets are disused) so please take out everything you bring in.

Sadly there is virtually no information about the tennis club or the lake online but the courts look as though they have been disused for quite some time.

We received some information about the tennis club as follows:

"The tennis club was active until the early 2000's, as was the Holt Rock Tennis Club. But then, after some government funding new courts were built in Varley, the Holt Rock club moved to Varley and the old courts at Holt Rock were used as storage by CBH across the road. The courts at Varley (all 6) were absolutely stunning at the time, basically good enough to host a professional tournament, while the original clubs from the north and south were falling apart with zero chance of funding after what was spent at Varley."
