The Folklore of Western Australia

I'M TIRED

I'm tired of living in a world full of tears
of a steady decline through the passing of years
I'm tired of the things that always go wrong
and of wasting my time in a queue ten miles long

I'm tired of the rules that dictate how we live
and of being knocked back when I've so much to give
I'm fed up with working and not getting rich
and of trying to agree when there's some kind of hitch

I'm tired of red tape and of course City Hall
of the stupid decisions they force on us all
I'm tired of cold toes on a wintry day
and of nobody listening when I have my say

I'm fed up with feeling that I've been sold out
and of waiting to find out what life's all about
I'm tired of my species that's raping the Earth
and of people who have neither substance or worth

I'm tired of the masses in ignorant bliss
and of how evolution could turn out like this
If we are the future then God help us all
Any glimmer of hope seems incredibly small
